Exchange 2010 on Windows 2012

installing Exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2012.

====

Not
quite sure why I’m getting all these requests for run throughs at the minute. Probably some of my friends trying to be ‘funny’. Anyways, last one was Exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2012. It is pretty easy isn’t it?

So, what do you need?

Pre-Reqs
Well, firstly, you need to install these components from an elevated PowerShell command:

RSAT-ADDS,NET-Framework-Core,NET-HTTP-Activation,Web-Server,Web-Basic-Auth,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Metabase,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console,WAS-Process-Model,Web-ISAPI-Ext,Web-Digest-Auth,Web-Dyn-Compression,RPC-Over-HTTP-Proxy,Web-Asp-Net,Web-WMI,Web-ISAPI-Filter

Next, you need to install the filter packs - you can get them from here:

Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack 64 bit
Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack SP1 64 bit

Installation
You must install from the Exchange 2010 Service Pack 3 media as it contains the full installation, with the service pack slipstreamed. You can download that here:

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3

Run the install from there - you can see the whole process in the video below, or you can
view the hi-def one directly on YouTub here.

PS. I do question the value of doing run throughs like this…but if people ask, I’ll video it while I’m doing it if the opportunity presents itself…. cos I’m nice like that.
